I’m going to count the visit I made last winter to the National Museum of Transportation as preliminary because it was pre-blog. It was definitely a fun visit (even though it was winter), because the collection of railroad equipment was quite substantial. Among the highlights are the U.P. 4-8-8-4 #4006 “Big Boy”, and the 4-8-2 Frisco 1522. Even though there are other exhibits, including cars and such, it is definitely more of a railroad museum than anything else. I will be sure, though, to take more pictures next time, as I will be making another visit hopefully later on this year.
Here are my pictures from the National Museum of Transportation’s train collection.
